Fay Roberts is classically trained and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

In addition to being bandleader and founder of Orquesta Charangoa, Fay is the former music director for the Braille Institute in Los Angeles where she managed an intensive jazz studies program for 38 years.

She is also an active member of the National Flute Association and a featured Yamaha artist.

I believe that anyone who loves music can learn to play an instrument

I have had a wide variety of students over the years , the youngest being 6 years old and the oldest, 82 years young. Many of my students are from middle to high school while many are adults. Some have always wanted to play; others used to play and now want to rekindle their passion.
